Hayao Miyazaki
Hayao Miyazaki (born 1941) is a Japanese animation director, screenwriter, and manga artist, one of the most internationally celebrated figures in the history of animated film. A co-founder of Studio Ghibli with Isao Takahata and Toshio Suzuki, he has produced a series of feature-length animated films that combine extraordinary draughtsmanship, environmentalist and pacifist concerns, and richly imagined fantasy worlds. He has won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature twice. His acclaimed films include Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki's Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, The Wind Rises, and The Boy and the Heron.
