Gualtiero Jacopetti, Franco E. Prosperi

Gualtiero Jacopetti (1919–2011) and Franco E. Prosperi (born 1926) were Italian documentary filmmakers who, with Paolo Cavara, helped invent the mondo film — the controversial shockumentary genre that combined ethnographic, sensational, and at times fabricated material into globally circulated documentaries. Their joint acclaimed films include Mondo Cane, Women of the World, Mondo Cane 2, Africa Addio, and Goodbye Uncle Tom.
