Götz Spielmann
Götz Spielmann (born 1961) is an Austrian director and screenwriter, one of the most acclaimed figures of contemporary Austrian cinema. Trained at the Vienna Film Academy under Axel Corti, he turned to feature filmmaking in the late 1980s and developed a body of work characterized by elliptical narrative, psychological intensity, and a strong sense of Austrian landscape. His feature Revanche was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His acclaimed films include Foreign Land, The Foreigner, Antares, Revanche, and October November.
