Gianni di Gregorio
Gianni Di Gregorio (born 1949) is an Italian director, screenwriter, and actor whose late-career emergence as a writer-director and on-screen presence has made him one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Italian comedy. After years as a writer and assistant — notably as the co-writer of Matteo Garrone's Gomorrah — he turned to direction in his late fifties with the gentle comedy Mid-August Lunch, which he also starred in. His acclaimed films include Mid-August Lunch, The Salt of Life, Good for Nothing, Citizens of the World, and Long Live the Bride.
