Gavin Hood
Gavin Hood (born 1963) is a South African director and screenwriter. Trained as a lawyer and at the UCLA film program, he established his international reputation with the feature Tsotsi, an adaptation of an Athol Fugard novel set in a Johannesburg township, which won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His acclaimed films include Tsotsi, Rendition, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ender's Game, Eye in the Sky, and Official Secrets.
