François Ozon
François Ozon (born 1967) is a French director and screenwriter, one of the most prolific and stylistically versatile figures in contemporary French cinema. A graduate of La Fémis, he emerged in the late 1990s with provocative, sexually candid short films and features before moving across genres — Sirkian melodrama, period musical, courtroom drama, psychological thriller — at almost a film a year. His work returns regularly to family, desire, and performance. His acclaimed films include Sitcom, Under the Sand, 8 Women, Swimming Pool, Time to Leave, In the House, Frantz, and By the Grace of God.
