Francis Veber
Francis Veber (born 1937) is a French director and screenwriter, one of the most commercially successful figures of postwar French popular comedy. He began as a journalist before becoming one of France's most prolific comedy screenwriters, with credits on dozens of features, and turned to direction in the 1970s. His features are typically built around mismatched-pair comic premises that he revisited across remakes and Hollywood adaptations. His acclaimed films include The Toy, The Goat, Les Compères, Les Fugitifs, The Dinner Game, The Closet, and The Valet.
