Fernando Trueba
Fernando Trueba (born 1955) is a Spanish director, screenwriter, and producer, one of the most internationally celebrated figures of post-Franco Spanish cinema. His feature Belle Époque won the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. His later work has included acclaimed documentaries about Latin jazz musicians and a major animated feature. His acclaimed films include First Effort, The Year of Awakening, Belle Époque, The Girl of Your Dreams, Calle 54, Chico & Rita (co-directed), The Artist and the Model, The Queen of Spain, and Memories of My Father.
