Feng Xiaogang
Feng Xiaogang (born 1958) is a Chinese director and screenwriter, one of the most commercially successful figures in contemporary Chinese cinema. After a long career in Chinese television comedy, he established himself in the late 1990s as the master of the so-called New Year's-greeting comedy that dominates the Chinese popular cinema each Lunar New Year. His later work has moved into historical epic and serious drama. His acclaimed films include The Dream Factory, Cell Phone, A World Without Thieves, The Banquet, Aftershock, 1942, I Am Not Madame Bovary, and Youth.
