Fatih Akin
Fatih Akin (born 1973) is a German director, screenwriter, and producer of Turkish descent, one of the most internationally celebrated voices in contemporary German cinema. Born and raised in Hamburg, he established his reputation with features about the experience of the Turkish German community. His feature Head-On won the Golden Bear at Berlin, and The Edge of Heaven won the Best Screenplay prize at Cannes. His acclaimed films include Short Sharp Shock, In July, Solino, Head-On, The Edge of Heaven, Soul Kitchen, The Cut, In the Fade, and Rhinegold.
