Emanuele Crialese

Emanuele Crialese (born 1965) is an Italian director and screenwriter, one of the most acclaimed Italian filmmakers of his generation. Trained at New York University's film school, he became known for features set on Italian islands and engaged with themes of migration and family. His acclaimed films include Once We Were Strangers, Respiro, Golden Door, Terraferma, and L'Immensità.
