Eiichi Kudo

Eiichi Kudō (1929–2000) was a Japanese director who specialized in chambara (samurai swordplay) features at Toei studios. He is best remembered for a celebrated cycle of group-action samurai features in the 1960s, often built around assassination plots and political conspiracies. His acclaimed films include 13 Assassins, The Great Killing, The Eleven Samurai, and Castle of Owls.
