David Lynch
David Lynch (1946–2025) was an American director, screenwriter, painter, and musician whose name became a byword for a particular vein of dream-logic American surrealism. Trained as a painter, he turned to film with the cult feature Eraserhead and went on to make a body of work — for cinema and television — built around small-town menace, doubled identities, industrial sound design, and an unembarrassed engagement with the uncanny. His acclaimed films include Eraserhead, The Elephant Man, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, Mulholland Drive, and Inland Empire, along with the television series Twin Peaks.
