Darrell Roodt

Darrell Roodt (born 1962) is a South African director and screenwriter, one of the most prolific figures in contemporary South African cinema. His features have often engaged with apartheid-era and post-apartheid South African experience. His acclaimed films include A Place of Weeping, Sarafina!, Cry, the Beloved Country, Yesterday, and Winnie Mandela.
