Dani Kouyaté
Dani Kouyaté (born 1961) is a Burkinabé director, screenwriter, and griot (traditional West African storyteller) descended from a long lineage of Mandinka griots. He trained at the Université Paris VIII and at the Institut National de l'Image et du Son in Paris. His features draw deeply on West African oral traditions. His acclaimed films include Keita! Heritage of the Griot, Sia, the Dream of the Python, and Medan vi lever.
