Damiano Damiani

Damiano Damiani (1922–2013) was an Italian director and screenwriter, one of the most accomplished Italian directors of politically engaged genre cinema. He worked as a screenwriter and assistant before turning to direction in the early 1960s, and produced a celebrated series of mafia and political thrillers. His acclaimed films include The Empty Canvas, A Bullet for the General, Confessions of a Police Captain, How to Kill a Judge, A Genius, Two Partners and a Dupe, The Inquiry, and The Sicilian Connection.
