Cristina Comencini

Cristina Comencini (born 1956) is an Italian director and screenwriter, the daughter of the postwar director Luigi Comencini. Trained in economics, she worked as a screenwriter on Italian features before turning to direction. Her work has often focused on female protagonists and on family conflict, and her novel La Bestia nel Cuore (Don't Tell) was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film when she adapted it for the screen. Her acclaimed films include I Like Working, The Best Day of My Life, Don't Tell, Quando la Notte, Latin Lover, and An Almost Ordinary Summer.
