Claudia Llosa
Claudia Llosa (born 1976) is a Peruvian director and screenwriter, the most internationally celebrated figure of contemporary Peruvian cinema. Trained at New York University and the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona, she established her reputation with the haunting Andean drama The Milk of Sorrow, which won the Golden Bear at Berlin and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Her acclaimed films include Madeinusa, The Milk of Sorrow, Aloft, and Distant.
