Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan (born 1970) is a British-American director, producer, and screenwriter, one of the most commercially successful and stylistically distinctive filmmakers of his generation. After early work in shorts and his self-financed debut Following, he established himself with Memento and the Christopher Reeve-Bale Batman trilogy. His features are characterized by elaborate non-linear structures, IMAX-scale photography, and a fascination with time, perception, and moral compromise. His acclaimed films include Memento, Insomnia, The Dark Knight, Inception, Interstellar, Dunkirk, Tenet, and Oppenheimer (for which he won the Academy Award for Best Director).
