Cherien Dabis

Cherien Dabis (born 1976) is an American director and screenwriter of Palestinian-Jordanian descent. She trained at Columbia University's film program and worked as a writer on the television series The L Word before directing her debut feature Amreeka, about a Palestinian family resettling in the American Midwest. Her acclaimed films include Amreeka and May in the Summer.
