Cathy Yan
Cathy Yan (born 1986) is a Chinese-American director and screenwriter. A former journalist for the Wall Street Journal, she trained at NYU's graduate film program and made her feature debut with Dead Pigs, set in Shanghai during a real-world ecological crisis. She subsequently became one of the few East Asian women to direct a major American superhero feature with Birds of Prey. Her acclaimed films include Dead Pigs and Birds of Prey.
