Catherine Breillat
Catherine Breillat (born 1948) is a French director, screenwriter, and novelist regarded as one of the most provocative figures in contemporary French cinema. She began as a novelist in her late teens and made her debut feature in the 1970s, but it was in the 1990s and 2000s that her features about female sexuality and the politics of the body brought her wide international notice. Her acclaimed films include A Real Young Girl, 36 Fillette, Romance, Fat Girl, Anatomy of Hell, The Last Mistress, Bluebeard, The Sleeping Beauty, and Last Summer.
