Carlos Sorín
Carlos Sorín (born 1944) is an Argentine director and screenwriter known for understated, observational features about ordinary people in the vast landscapes of Argentine Patagonia. After a long career in commercials, he turned to feature filmmaking with the comic A King and His Movie in the 1980s, then refined a road-movie-inflected style across a quietly celebrated run of features in the 2000s. His work is often built around non-professional actors. His acclaimed films include A King and His Movie, Eversmile, New Jersey, Bombón: El Perro, Minimal Stories, The Window, and Joel.
