Buster Keaton, Edward Sedgwick
Buster Keaton (1895–1966) was an American actor, director, and stunt performer, one of the great comic artists of silent cinema. After the loss of his independent producing arrangement, he was signed to MGM, where Edward Sedgwick (1892–1953), a veteran of stage and screen and one of the studio's most reliable comedy directors, co-directed several Keaton features. The Keaton–Sedgwick collaborations are less stylistically free than Keaton's independent silent classics but contain some of his most polished comic set-pieces. Their acclaimed films include The Cameraman, Spite Marriage, Free and Easy, Doughboys, Sidewalks of New York, and Speak Easily.
