Andrei Tarkovskiy, Marika Beiku, Aleksandr Gordon
Andrei Tarkovsky (1932–1986), Marika Beiku, and Aleksandr Gordon were the co-directors of the diploma short The Killers, made while Tarkovsky was still a student at VGIK in Moscow. Beiku and Gordon were Tarkovsky's classmates. Tarkovsky went on to become one of the most internationally celebrated figures in postwar world cinema, and Gordon continued working at Mosfilm. Their student short The Killers was adapted from the Ernest Hemingway story.
