Andrei Konchalovsky
Andrei Konchalovsky (born 1937) is a Russian director, screenwriter, and producer, an elder brother of Nikita Mikhalkov and a longtime collaborator with Andrei Tarkovsky in his student years. After establishing himself in Soviet cinema, he moved to Hollywood in the 1980s, where he directed several American features before returning to Russia and producing later work in his native country. His acclaimed films include The First Teacher, Asya's Happiness, Uncle Vanya, Siberiade, Maria's Lovers, Runaway Train, Tango & Cash, House of Fools, Paradise, and Dear Comrades!.
